Mississauga East–Cooksville
Khawar Hussain
Khawar Hussain wants to give back to the community that welcomed him with open arms when he came to Canada with his family 19 years ago. He was able to pursue a degree from Toronto Metropolitan University and to work hard at a job that paid the bills for his young family.
Khawar knows that things are different now. No matter how hard people work, they still can’t afford to pay rent or put food on the table. That’s why he’s running to represent the people of Mississauga East—Cooksville.
After 14 years in the public relations and food industries, and now in his work as public health inspector, Khawar has had the privilege of meeting many of the people who make him proud to call Mississauga East—Cooksville home. Hearing their stories and struggles has given Khawar a people-first perspective on the issues that matter most.
Khawar is ready to fight to build affordable homes, to bring down the cost of rent, to secure federal funding for crucial local infrastructure, and to ensure everyone feels safe and supported in his community.
Khawar would be honoured to serve the people of Mississauga East—Cooksville by bringing their voices to Ottawa – and by building a Canada where hard work pays off, and no one gets left behind.
